Here at Academic Tutors, we understand the struggle and challenges of learning. We are familiar with the gaps in the education system and the truth is that many bright students are slipping through the cracks. It's challenging for teachers to provide the necessary support for all of their students, and it can often be reflected in the performance of the students that need the most help.
We realize that many parents and students are facing precarious circumstances due to the social distancing measures in place for COVID-19. However, we believe that the quality of education should not be comprised during these difficult times and that students should continue to work towards building their skills. We are here to offer support, guidance, and assurance to all our students and parents.
We offer homeschooling assistance, additional school support, and individual learning plans. All of our teaching pathways work to bridge the distance between student and knowledge.

We believe that every student is capable of applying themselves and excelling, no matter the subject. We aim to take on a role that ensures a student is gaining both technical skills as well as soft skills. It takes a combination of both confidence and knowledge to complete a task, and we are here to provide the tools that enable students to attain both.

Our Approach
Holistic & Traditional
Our approach is a blend between holistic student-oriented learning and traditional methods. The holistic learning method engages students by curating the material based on their curiosity and interest. It fosters a sense of control and empowerment in the process of learning, which works to give the student an active role in their education. We believe that learning must include a relationship to real-life, and our method works to develop a student's ability to think critically and independently apply knowledge to situations or problems. However, we do believe that students need core skills related to math, the sciences, and language. For core related skills, repetition and practice are needed in order to gain familiarity and fluency. The dynamic of one-on-one tutoring allows teachers to participate in both an active role when leading class and a passive role when students are urged to lead on their own. ​
